Simon Day is not a footballer. Growing up with the dream of being a gardener, he sometimes struggles with the pace of competitive sport. This has left him with the grace and balance of a flamingo. However, a lack of understanding of the game, direct approach and the fact that he runs like a dog after the ball mean he actually becomes quite handy. In the words of Captain Jim, “How can a defender know what he is going to do if he doesn’t even know himself? You can’t teach that kind of irrationality”.
“Erm, I like the football” Simon recently footballered, “It is quick and bounces a lot. At the end of the day, when I score it makes me happy and the kit we wear is nice.”
